Reverberation Damping
One part of frequency control is reverb damping. Before we can understand what reverb damping is, we should have a clear picture of what really happens in real life. What happens if a sound bounced into an obstacle, a part of it is reflected into a surface while another part is absorbed by it. To be more clear, read this article by Audio Fanzine about reverb damping.
Learn To Record Audio From Home In The Next Hour
You’ve heard me promise that Home Brew Audio could teach you to record audio from home from home in less that an hour….even if you have NEVER done recording before. Well it’s true….no really! All you need is a computer with an internet connection (a pretty good bet if you’re reading this;)), a sound card, and any microphone (you probably got one with your computer), and you have all you need to record audio from home. If you DON’T have a mic at all, you might have to add the time it takes you to run to the nearest Target, WalMart, Radio Shack, etc. to pick one up for $4.00. Then go to our video tutorials page, where you will find video tutorials that will walk you through it.
In a nutshell, those first 3 video lessons show you how to download the “free” recording program from the internet, called Audacity, record a voice-over, then mix a piece of “royalty-free” music (also free on our site) with the voice to create a sample podcast intro. You’ll be shocked by what you can produce RIGHT NOW, with tools you probably already have!
If there is one thing we have learned on our 30-year journey to learn audio recording, it is this: knowledge is more important than gear! We squeezed some great sounding recordings out of the cheapest gear because we had no other choice! Can you get better sound with better gear? Sometimes. But I have seen (over and over and over and over…..get the idea?:)) people who managed to procure $10,000 worth of recording equipment turn out recordings that sounded like &*%$##!@! That’s because they didn’t understand the BASICS of recording audio.
So if you want to get started learning those basics, check out our video tutorials at https://www.homebrewaudio.com/products-page
See you there!

5 Phases Of Every Good Mix
Sometimes we experience trying to do a mix and we don’t know where to start? Or perhaps avoiding it when it is almost finished? The only solution we can have is mixing it in phases. According to the Recording Revolution, there are only 5 phases that matter in having a good mix. Here it is.
