You might have tried different ways or techniques including recording the guitar first then your vocals but it just did not give you that authentic feel. Stagelight Digital Audio Workstation: Get Your Free Download
Stagelight is giving away a free download of their digital audio workstation (DAW). You can get yours by going here and using the promo code: SAMASHROCKS.
Sam Ash teamed up with Open Labs to offer this free download of their popular Stagelight Core Music Creation software. This DAW works on both Mac and PC as desktop recording software. But Stagelight is also a mobile app, currently available on the Android platform.
What is a DAW Again?
You can read up on that on our post What Is A DAW? It Means Digital Audio Workstation. But basically, a Digital Audio Workstation is audio recording software that allows you to record multiple tracks of audio and stack them, sort of like layers in Photoshop. You can use a DAW to create a song (usually) or mix voice overs with music, sound effects, etc. You can then “mix down” (check out our post What Does It Mean to Mix Down Audio? for more on that), or “render” your tracks to make a final file.
This free download is only available for a limited time. Right now, as I write this, it is July 8th, 2017.

Drum Recording 101: Hi-hat Cymbals
We have done a few of these breaking down how to record your drums into its bits and pieces. Here another part is broken down for you audio enthusiasts, where we discuss recording hi-hat cymbals. To put things in perspective hi-hat cymbals is really not that hard to record, on most occasions your overhead stereo tracks should be more than enough to cover for these.
