RØDE Microphones’ RØDECaster Pro has now a firmware update. The firmware version 2.0 is an update that introduces over 25 powerful features to the RØDECaster Pro. Hence, the world’s best podcast production tool is better than ever. The new firmware will help the users to effortlessly create extraordinary sounding podcasts.

Now, users can save and load ‘Shows’ via the RØDECaster companion app. It is essentially a snapshot of all sounds and settings. While the settings can also be saved on their own. While the Podcast Transfer Mode allows users to transfer podcasts from their onboard microSDTM card to a computer directly from the RØDECaster Pro.

DPA Microphones Unveils New 2028 Vocal Mic

The 2028 Vocal Mic is DPA Microphones’ new addition to its microphone lineup. It is suited for live stage performances, broadcast and pro AV applications. It is available in 3 variants: a wired XLR with handle and two wireless mic configurations that are compatible with the most widely used wireless microphone systems.

On a live stage, it needs very little to no EQ to sound just like you are standing next to the singer listening to their performance. This enables the artist to sharpen their vocals, which puts less strain on the voice. With its price at $700 USD, it performs significantly better than anything else in its price range.

Focusrite’s brings up-to-date connectivity and a plentiful of upgrades across the range. The third generation of Focusrite’s Scarlett audio interfaces has upgraded preamps, more flexible I/O and more features which makes it exceptional. The design and approach are the real winners, and the pricing at $299 is very sensible.

It has a new “interactive onboarding” feature where the first time you connect the interface, it mounts as a drive. Also, when you click on the app, you are guided through the setup and signup process. This is a great recording and MIDI interface for musicians and producers of all levels.

Review: IK Multimedia UNO Drum

A lot of companies have responded to the demand for inexpensive, great-quality hardware instruments that help producers create music. Last year, IK introduced UNO Synth which is their first hardware synth. Moreover, the all-new UNO Drum is very much its sister product in terms of both its design and scope.

One of the differences between the two is that the keyboard on UNO Synth now becomes 12 drum touch-sensitive pads, beneath which sits 16 steps for sequencing. However, the UNO Drum is a more sonically flexible piece of hardware than you might initially think.

TC Electronic’s Finalizer App is a next-gen mastering suite

TC Electronic first introduced the mastering hardware unit known as Finalizer 25 years ago. The company is now on a new chapter by having the Finalizer App, a next-gen mastering suite for desktops. It is available on both macOS and Windows. You’ll also need to have an iLok account to use the software.

The Finalizer App features an array of the ‘best’ multiband compression, limiter and EQ algorithms. Moreover, it also has a free online analysis service. This allows you to upload your tracks to a cloud, analyze them with visual tools and finally compare them to TC Electronic’s reference tracks.
