Ask any music producer and they will be the first ones to tell you that the quality and capabilities of a proper headphone can be the difference maker when mixing and mastering their music. For those who want to couple style with functionality, the Fostex T60RP Headphones provide an experience unlike any other, giving those who wear it a comfortable and easy fit, while only belting out the most crisp and clear audio sounds perfect for refining your masterpiece.
Key Takeaways:
- Ask.Audio reviewer, G.W Childs IV, recently went on record, regarding the uniquely organic T60RP headphones from Fostex.
- The Fostex headphones have incorporated the unusual feature of mahogany cups, straight from Africa.
- Because the wood is so light and the surrounding foam is both soft and buoyant, it's possible to actually forget you have a headset even on.
“Not only are they amazingly comfortable but they really do sound great and add a nice touch to the studio environment.”

I’m a fan of these headphones. They have in no ways broken any molds or shattered any glass ceilings, but they remain very competent – I think that these are a good introduction to the world of nice headphones. They aren’t perfect, by any means, but there’s not much wrong with them – very little, in fact. With their imaging and separation skills, I don’t think that $400 is asking for too much, when considering the increased cost of materials and manufacturing that comes with fully wooden cups.
