Mastering At Home
Pro-audio files’ Ian Fargo shares a story he experienced years ago that lead to the creation of Mastering in the Box, a 3-hour course where Vargo teaches different tricks when recording at home.
Excited about working on a particular project, his excitement immediately died down when his thoughts of a perfect track mixed in a somewhat decent studio with all the acoustics and gear he wanted, turned out the opposite. He worked hard to create a masterpiece that turned to be mangled by using compression incorrectly.
He then set on a path of mastering, with revisions after revisions of this work.
