Spiral Generator is a freeware virtual instrument for PC and Mac inspired from the Oscilloscope Music that uses oscillators and oscilloscopes to create stunning visuals. It is based on an original algorithm created by Jerobeam Fenderson.
The interface is nicely laid out and easy to use that comes with set of presets that can be helpful in such a non-orthodox instrument. After reading ‘How to Mix a Song from Scratch’, I learned the value of an EQ plugin. As a musician who has edited my own music, I wish I would have known that having this plugin would give me clarity in sound, fullness and focus. One thing the author pointed out in the video was that you can over-use the equalizer. Apparently it is best to use it in a more subtle way to compliment the piece.
